The Rumors Of Our Demise Have Been Greatly Exaggerated

A Unique Perspective on William Ayers and Obama

-By The Reluctant Republican

The McCain camp aren’t the only ones turning up the heat on the Obama Ayers connection. Foxnews spoke to John Murtagh this morning about Ayers and Obama. Murtagh’s home was attacked by Ayers’ radical group the Weather Underground in 1970. Given that fact, he certainly has an interesting and unique perspective. (In addition to the interview below, Murtagh wrote a piece about it that you can read here).

I couldn't agree more. this, to me, is george w.'s biggest crime. taking advantage of the perception of physical security to tighten the grip that the government already has on the people. grrrr...

Societies tend over time to exchange freedoms for the perception of safety (either economic or physical). Its part of that whole pathway from freedom and capitalism through socialism and loss of freedom into full blown marxism and bondage that you refuse to admit exists. And so we empower homeland security to take some of our rights in exchange for perceived physical security.

or its the TSA agents who found all those pirated DVD's in my luggage! totalatarian organizations that don't need a legitimate legal mandate all look the same to me...

You're ALIVE! I assumed due to your extended silence that you were stuck in a Chinese prison somewhere. Nice to know those commy bastards haven't caught you yet.

Making something up is not a unique perspective. I can't believe that these "reporters" let that go unchallenged. Never once, was the question asked, "how do you know this". "how do you know what happened around the water cooler of some Chicago Law Firm 20 years ago, you are freaking from Yonkers," for example, would have been a good follow up question that i would expect a "normal" journalist to ask...but no, instead, these brilliant and insightful reporters come up with "wow, i've never heard that before". Awesome...way to elevate this yahoo's speculation into the realm of revelation. once again, guilt by association. Fox is brilliant...play to what the audience wants to hear, which is fine, but i'd just like this to be put in a similar catagory as info-mercials. Don't think, RR that i'm not watching you just because i'm on a business trip!
