Liberal Buzzword of the Week -By The Reluctant Republican
Remember the 2000 election? Gore v Bush. We all learned a new word that year. We learned it because every major news channel beat the drum and pounded it into our skulls; gravitas. It became the de-facto buzzword to describe why Al Gore was superior to George Bush, and why Bush simply shouldn’t be elected (ironic today given the fact the Obama is sorely lacking in that area). All of the news outlets and liberal pundits hammered away with the same exact word, phrase, and message; gravitas, gravitas, gravitas. This week, in the wake of the news that Palin’s 17 year old daughter is pregnant, we get a new one; “vetted”. “Was Palin properly vetted?” “Did McCain’s team vette her properly?” “Were they thorough enough in their vetting process?” Enough already. Be original. Stop reading off the fax and the email from the DNC. I get tired of the drum beat in perfect unison. Based on what’s surfaced about Obama, we could ask whether or not the DNC properly vetted him. Shockingly though, I haven’t heard anyone raise that question (except for Hillary Clinton).
